For many years Connie Milstein has been a supporter of a large number of different areas of medical research. Recently Mrs. Milstein added CURE (Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy) to her list of organizations that she supports by becoming a member of the Board of Directors.
Connie Milstein is not just dedicated to finding a cure for this tragic disease, but she is also striving to make headway in the difficult task of reducing, and eventually eliminating, the terrible stigma that those who suffer from epilepsy must also endure in our society.

Sunday, 14. March 2010 3:28

belfer centerConnie Milstein was an International Council Member of the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.

The Belfer Center is part of Harvard University’s Kennedy School where research, teaching and training in security affairs on a global level are conducted; and where policy on science, technology, environmental and resource issues are discussed and formulated.

The mission of the Belfer Center can be divided into two main areas:

1.    To provide the leadership needed in our rapidly changing world to allow experts to have the information at their fingertips to set policy in critical areas of international relevance, such as security, science, technology, environmental and other areas where modern issues intersect with international policy.

2.    Educate, train and prepare the future leadership with the skills and understanding to provide leadership in these complex and critical areas.

The fundamental assumptions of the Belfer Center are that science and technology are driving forces always transforming not only the challenges the world faces but also providing the opportunities for finding solutions.

Connie’s Bakery and General Store

Friday, 5. March 2010 4:50

Brownie_HeartsIn an innovative and fun way to help people, Connie Milstein founded Connie’s Bakery and General Store. At Connie’s every purchase is in support of charitable organizations because all profits are donated to a variety of causes which directly help people in the community.

Located in Mt. Kisco, New York, Connie’s Bakery also helps in other ways. All the ingredients are fresh, and whenever possible are supplied by local businesses in order to support them and encourage their development. There is also an apprenticeship program which trains people to become master pastry chefs, in many cases giving employment to people who might not have had any other chance to work.

Connie Milstein often donates her baked goods to other organizations which are helping people, such as the brownies which were recently distributed at a family event to show love and support to military families sponsored by the Blue Star Families organization.

Connie’s Bakery is an innovative and tasty way to help. Go visit, you’ll be glad you did.
